DOH Mission Statement: To empower homeless expectant mothers by providing tools to build a life that is self-sufficient, sustainable, and has purpose.
The Door of Hope Transitional Housing program is for women ages 18-21 who are pregnant and homeless/near homelessness. Women who enter this program will work closely with their client advocate, social worker, and trauma-informed counselor to develop a comprehensive plan to address their current needs, connect them with valuable community resources, and work towards self-sustainability for themselves and their family.
This structured program provides a safe place for moms to live while they make this monumental transition from homelessness to independent living. Moms can enter the program at any point in their pregnancy and stay until their baby is 18 months old, with no other children in their care. For more information on eligibility requirements, see application below.
Note that the Door of Hope program is in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. If you are out of the area, you can search for a maternity home by clicking here. Set the Directory Code to “Housing,” the Country to the “United States” and enter your Postal Code to find something near you.
